Baruch College SBDC and Futureworks Shops Partnership
The Baruch College Small Business Development Center (Baruch SBDC) located at the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship has teamed up with SecondMuse & NYCEDC's Futureworks Shops to extend its business counseling services to all members and clients at other Futureworks Shops partners in NYC. Advisors from the Baruch SBDC are available to advise these entrepreneurs, makers, and business owners on areas relating to sales, marketing, finance, operations and other business matters.

Moreover, specific programming and tools can be developed based on community needs. A Futureworks Shops Accelerator in Brooklyn, requested a financial workshop for their members. Baruch SDBC advisors developed a customized presentation on the topic and are now working with several of the member entrepreneurs to pursue the financial goals they outlined at that time.

Futureworks Shops is New York City’s collaborative network of prototyping and innovation spaces where hardware startups turn their ideas into reality. All throughout 2019, you can access subsidized and discounted workspace, machinery and consulting expertise throughout the city. From studio space at NYDesigns in Long Island City, to CNC expertise at Supersmith in Red Hook. Futureworks Shops also introduces the Futureworks Shops R&D Fellowship, a pilot program that prepares aspiring engineers for jobs at hardware startups.
