The New York Small Business Development Centers (NYSBDC) proudly announces the addition of two distinguished leaders to its Board of Advisors: Daniel Morales, Senior Vice President at Bancroft Capital, and Nicholas Querques, Vice President of Industry and External Affairs at SUNY Research Foundation. Daniel Morales brings extensive expertise in finance and a passionate commitment to supporting veterans and small business communities, while Nicholas Querques offers deep knowledge in commercialization, innovation, and entrepreneurship, which is crucial for advancing innovative early-stage companies. Their combined expertise will significantly strengthen NYSBDC’s strategic planning and initiatives as we continue to build out innovative programming and resources for small businesses across New York State.
Daniel Morales Brings Financial and Veteran Advocacy Expertise to NYSBDC
Daniel Morales joins the NYSBDC board as a strong advocate for veteran entrepreneurs and small businesses. With an extensive career in finance—currently at Bancroft Capital, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Broker Dealer—Morales has been a driving force in helping grow its Veteran Training Program and Capital Markets business, supporting veterans through training and employment initiatives. His work was instrumental in passing New York’s “Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Act,” which ensures that veteran-owned businesses receive state contracting opportunities. Morales brings a hands-on understanding of both business and community service, which he applies to expand economic opportunities for veterans and help grow its Veteran Training Program and Capital Markets business.
Nicholas Querques Tapped for Leadership in Innovation and Market Commercialization
As Vice President of Industry and External Affairs at SUNY Research Foundation, Nicholas Querques specializes in advancing innovation from research to market, a priority for the NYSBDC’s support of high-growth, tech-driven small businesses. Querques has led initiatives across SUNY’s billion-dollar research network, creating partnerships to commercialize cutting-edge technology. His previous roles at NYSERDA and the University at Albany’s College of Nanotechnology underscore his commitment to building scalable, sustainable businesses in New York. Querques’ addition to the board signals a strengthened focus on our commitment to bringing more expertise in commercialization.
“We are thrilled to welcome Daniel and Nicholas to our advisory board. Their expertise brings a unique and powerful perspective to our work supporting New York’s small businesses. With Daniel’s dedication to empowering veteran-owned enterprises and financial expertise and Nicholas’ leadership and deep knowledge of commercialization, their contributions will be invaluable as we expand resources and drive economic growth across the state.”
