The New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC) proudly announces Gina Coletti as the new Chair of its Advisory Board. A distinguished leader and existing board member with a remarkable track record of community service and professional excellence, Coletti brings unparalleled expertise and passion for fostering economic growth and development across New York State.
As the owner of GC Advisory Group, Inc., a New York State Licensed Real Estate Broker, and Appraiser, Coletti has built a thriving career in real estate, public-private partnerships, and community leadership. Her extensive background includes corporate finance and sales with Citigroup’s Global Wealth Management and Retail Banking Divisions, as well as property management of significant assets like the Nassau County Landmark Real Estate Portfolio and the Mitchell Field Veteran Housing Complex.
Coletti’s commitment to community and economic development is exemplified through her founding of the Suffolk County Alliance of Chambers, a regional business organization uniting local chambers to address small business initiatives and advocate for economic development. As a member of the Suffolk County Downtown Revitalization Panel and the Suffolk County Women’s Advisory Commission, Coletti has been instrumental in enhancing Long Island’s downtowns and supporting women in business.
“We have been fortunate to have so many years of incredible service by Jim Conroy,” said Sonya Smith, State Director of the NYSBDC. “I want to personally thank him for all he has given to this organization, helping to build it into an integral part of New York State’s business ecosystem. We look forward to Gina Coletti being elected Chair of the Board and the insights and valuable perspectives she brings to assisting us in enriching our business network.”
Reflecting on his tenure, James Conroy, Exiting Board Chair, shared, “I have enjoyed my time on the NYSBDC Advisory Board, and my decision to leave the board is made easier knowing that the leadership and board are in good hands with Sonya Smith and Gina Coletti, respectively. SBDCs play a vital role in economic development and, though I am leaving the board, I will always remain an enthusiastic advocate and cheerleader for the centers and their staff.”
Continuing with the strong legacy of Jim Conroy and his leadership, Coletti’s history of community innovation includes launching impactful initiatives like the Nesconset Gazebo Park, coordinating economic revitalization projects, and advocating for female veterans through legislative efforts. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic provided vital resources and updates to small businesses across Suffolk County, showcasing her ability to pivot and adapt during challenging times.
Coletti’s achievements have earned her numerous honors, including the Suffolk County Woman of Distinction Award, the Real Estate Achievement & Leadership (R.E.A.L.) Award (2024), and induction into the Long Island Business News Hall of Fame for the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business. In 2023, she was named a Power Woman of Long Island by Schneps Media.
With her appointment as Chair, the New York SBDC Advisory Board is poised to continue its mission of supporting small businesses, fostering innovation, and driving economic development throughout New York State.
