Queens-York SBDC Receives 2026 SBA New York Metro District Excellence and Innovation Award

The Queens-York Small Business Development Center (SBDC), hosted by York College and led by Regional Director Harry Wells, was recognized by the SBA’s Metro New York District Office with the New York Metro SBDC Excellence and Innovation Award during National Small Business Week.

Presented as part of National Small Business Week, the award recognizes SBDC centers that demonstrate strong performance, innovation, and impact in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses within their local communities. The recognition also highlights the Queens-York SBDC’s work helping local business owners navigate procurement and contracting opportunities.

The recognition also reflects the work of the Queens-York SBDC team, including Regional Director Harry Wells, Assistant Director Paola Bianco, and Business Advisor Brian Yeung, in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses across Queens County.

Representatives from the SBA’s Metro New York District Office visited the Queens-York SBDC to present the award, including Man-Li Lin, Economic Development Specialist; Troy Diaz, Lead Lender Relations Specialist; and Erica Rosero Soria, Outreach & Marketing Specialist.

The Queens-York SBDC is part of the New York Small Business Development Center network, which provides no-cost, confidential 1-on-1 business advisement, training, and research to entrepreneurs and small business owners across New York State.
