New Series Launch! ‘Let’s Talk About Small Business’

We’re hitting the streets—and the storefronts—to have real conversations about what it means to start, grow, and sustain a small business in New York State and to talk to everyday New Yorkers about their small business dreams. Join Sarah Shilstone from our Farmingdale SBDC as we start our journey at a long-term SBDC Client, Adventureland, a name that many kids and families in Long Island and parts of New York City grew up going to.

In our ‘Let’s Talk About Small Business’ video series, over the next year, a few of our local small business advisors—from Buffalo to Long Island, from the Capitol Region to the Bronx and Manhattan—will be talking with:

– Everyday New Yorkers about their small business dreams and aspirations
– Current business owners about the real challenges they face
– Key state stakeholders about what’s at stake for entrepreneurship in our communities

This series will highlight different voices, regions, and SBDCs, but with a shared purpose: to better understand the realities of small business ownership and entrepreneurship in today’s New York.
