“A nation’s confidence is built on its ability to build. When a country makes things—when it manufactures, constructs, and creates—it reinforces not just its economy, but its sense of purpose, pride, and possibility.”

Helping NY Manufacturers Grow Locally and Compete Globally

The New York Small Business Development Centers (NYSBDC) provide targeted support for manufacturers across the state who are looking to reshore operations, expand U.S.-based production, or navigate new domestic and international opportunities. Our services align with the national push under the federal administration’s Made in America initiative, which aims to rebuild supply chains, boost domestic industry, and invest in American workers.

In 2025, the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced its new Made in America Manufacturing Initiative, which aims to restore American economic dominance and national security by empowering small manufacturers.

The Made in America Manufacturing Initiative commits to a deeper collaboration and coordination of federal agency resources designed to:

  • Increase Access to Capital
  • Improve Opportunities for Public and Private Investments in Support of Manufacturing in America
  • Help Small Businesses Export Their Products on a Global Scale

As part of this initiative, review our services below as well as additional Resources Page and Educational Offerings on manufacturing and onshoring.

  • One-on-One Advisement: No-cost, confidential consulting from experienced business advisors who understand New York’s manufacturing ecosystem — from lean operations to growth strategy.
  • Onshoring & Reshoring Support: Guidance for returning manufacturing to U.S. soil or expanding domestic capacity in response to supply chain disruption or cost advantages.
  • Capital Access & Incentives: Assistance identifying funding through SBA loan programs, federal and state grants, investment tax credits, and manufacturing-specific incentives.
  • Workforce & Training Solutions: Connection to workforce development programs, technical training, and apprenticeship networks that strengthen your talent pipeline.
