After years of combining their passion for LEGO® and event planning, Kendall and Jessica Rahill partnered with the SUNY Brockport SBDC in 2024 to launch Bricks ROC. Their advisor, Kristine Rudgers, helped transform their creative vision into actionable plans, developing financial projections that validated the business model. Now with their Fairport storefront thriving and mobile events returning, the couple is poised to inspire the next generation of builders through hands-on creativity.

Bricks ROC

Bricks ROC, founded in January 2024 by Kendall and Jessica Rahill, is a unique Fairport, NY-based LLC combining LEGO® retail with event space at 650 Whitney Road West, Suite B. The shop offers everything from new sets and retired collections to individual pieces and a “build-your-own-minifigure” station, while the event space hosts two-hour private parties. As the business grows, the couple plans to reintroduce mobile events and continue Jessica’s outreach with rec centers and schools.

Kendall, an 8-year LEGO® veteran with an art degree, sees the bricks as his creative medium. “There’s no better way to make dreams come true than opening our shop,” he says. “Working with my wife makes it even more special.” Jessica, an event planning professional who discovered LEGO® through Kendall, emphasizes its developmental benefits: “It builds kids’ social skills, communication, and problem-solving abilities.” Their shared passion fuels the business.

As first-time entrepreneurs, the Rahills turned to the SUNY Brockport SBDC in March 2024. Advisor Kristine Rudgers helped transform their ideas into actionable plans, creating detailed financial projections that validated their concepts. “Kristine streamlined our ever-evolving business plan,” they note. “Her projections turned our hunches into quantifiable data, giving us clarity on profitability and growth.”

“Reflecting on our experience, we shared that Kristine helped streamline our business plan as our ideas continue to grow and evolve. The financial projections Kristine put together were invaluable—all our hunches and guesses were finally quantified on paper.”
